Here is some additional information to keep in mind when renting a Township of Norwich facility.

LCBO Regulations
Persons renting the premises are responsible for obtaining their own Special Occasions Permit and must be furnished to an authorized agent for the Township of Norwich at least 48 hours prior to the hour the license becomes effective.
Persons renting the premises must submit their application forms to the Board 10 days prior to the function for weddings, and social functions, etc. Applications for fundraising must be submitted 30 days prior to the function and 60 days prior for a community festival.
Advertising is not permitted for events that are socials, weddings, etc.
Only the liquor, wine or beer purchased on the permit may be sold or served on the premises.
Liquor may be sold or served under the Authority of a Special Occasions Permit only when there is an adequate supply of food.
All evidence of the service and consumption of liquor shall be removed within 45 minutes after the expiry of such time period. No “Last Call” is to be made for the bar closing.
It will be the responsibility of the applicant to provide security at licensed functions where minors are to be admitted, with the exception of the following:
- Wedding receptions and wedding anniversaries.
- During the period of time that a meal is being served prior to a function but no later than 10:00 pm.
- Functions where less than 200 persons are in attendance.
The facility shall not be used for a purpose which has not been approved by the Township of Norwich or its agents as requested by the Applicant.The Applicant agrees to have the facility cleared of guests one hour after the closing time (2:00 am unless otherwise stated).
The Applicant agrees to compensate the Township of Norwich for any damage done to the building or equipment, by any person or persons using the facilities pursuant to this agreement.
Confetti is not permitted within the facilities.
The Applicant, as Lessee, agrees that the provisions of the Liquor License Act of the Province of Ontario, or any Regulation made thereunder, will not be contravened.
The Township of Norwich is not responsible for any stolen, lost or damaged articles, or for personal injuries that the Applicant or member of the Applicant’s organization, or guest thereof, may sustain or suffer by reason of the use of the facility.
The Applicant agrees to hold and save harmless the Township of Norwich from any actions, claims or proceedings brought by any person or organization for injuries, damages, personal loss, of for any other reason, wherein the Claimant(s) allege such claims, actions or proceedings are the result of attendance at the facility and the function herein provided for.
The Applicant agrees to provide his/her/their/its own insurance coverage, recognizing the Township does not provide such coverage beyond its own interests.
The Applicant agrees to maintain proper order through supervision of the function proposed and further agrees not to hold, sponsor and promote any function deemed to be publicly or morally offensive or that in any way would contravene any Statute, Law, or Regulation of the Government of Canada or the Province of Ontario.
ENGAGEMENT PARTIES, STAGS, ALL MALE OR ALL FEMALE PARTIES ARE NOT PERMITTED AT NORWICH COMMUNITY CENTRE, AS PASSED BY RESOLUTION OF COUNCIL.
Buck and Does are NOT permitted at Oxford Centre Hall in accordance with the special guidelines set up for those functions.
Any other conditions deemed necessary are to be written on the contract (obtained upon arranging the rental of the facility) and initialed by both the Applicant and the Township Agent.
The Applicant agrees to pay a Deposit as stated in the Rental Contract at time of signing.
NOTICE OF CANCELLATION MUST BE GIVEN BY THE APPLICANT 30 DAYS PRIOR TO THE DATE OF RENTAL- NOTICE MUST BE IN WRITING.
Music must stop at 1:00 am. All persons are to be out of the building by 2:00 am.
All unused liquor, wine or beer must be picked up and removed from the premises by the Applicant within 72 hours of the event unless there is a scheduled rental the next day and then it must be removed the night of the event.
