Take Notice that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Norwich will hold a public meeting on the 10th day of September , 2024, at 9:00 a.m., held in person at the below noted address (details available on the Township of Norwich website or via request to the undersigned) in order to consider a proposed Building Permit Fee By-law under Section 7 of the Building Code Act.
Please Note The specific time at which this application will be dealt with will depend on the progress of the meeting since a number of applications are normally on the agenda.
Purpose and Effect The Township of Norwich is proposing to amend the Building By-law following a review of the building permit fees under Section 7(b) of the Building Code Act. The effect will be to change the existing fee structure and to introduce a new fee to the existing fee schedule “A” to Building By-law (16-2019, as amended under 42-2023). Information will be provided at the meeting on the estimated costs of enforcing and administering the Building Code Act, the amount of the proposed fee(s) and the rationale for changing (and/or imposing) fees however, the nature of this new fee is to accommodate the process as prescribed under the County of Oxford connection by-law 6544-2023 and as relates to the need for alterations to an existing plumbing system so as to install the necessary device and/or changes to the plumbing system so as to comply with the requirements of the Ontario Building Code.
Any Person may attend the public meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed fees.
Additional Information related to the proposed fees is available during regular office hours at the municipal offices.
